Nursing Theories and Conceptual Models.
There exist primary differences between a nursing conceptual model and nursing theory. In several instances, the two have been used interchangeably. A nursing theory refers to a structure of ideas conglomerated together that help streamline thoughts and knowledge associated with nursing and the nursing practice in general (McKenna & Slevin, 2018). Therefore, a nursing theory is simply a set of ideas that helps and guides the nurses in their daily interactions with the patients. Nursing theories provide a foundation of the nursing practice and principles that guide the profession.
On the other hand, conceptual nursing models are a precursor to nursing theories. A conceptual nursing model explains the workings of a nursing particular theory. A conceptual nursing model explains the way of thinking behind a parti.
